BSC (BSC_001) is recognized by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) as a continuing education provider who adheres to NERC CE Program Criteria.
Basic Electrical Theory - 7 CEH (3 Simulation CEH)
This course provides a review of basic electrical concepts as they apply to power system operators who operate the interconnected power system. AC and DC power will be discussed to identify the two types of power and how they are used in the transmission of electricity. Electrical concepts such as capacitance, inductance, impedance and real and reactive power will also be discussed in this course. The effects of these electrical properties on power system operations will be explored using simulations to reinforce theory that is discussed in the course.

Each module in this course covers these specific training items:

  • Module 1 - Atomic Structure
  • Module 2 - DC Power
  • Module 3 - AC Power
  • Module 4 - Inductive and Capacitance
  • Module 5 - Impedance, Resonance and AC Power

The course fee is $24.00/CEH.

*Refunds granted at the participant's request prior to the course start date will incur a $15 processing fee. If the cancellation is requested more than one (1) business day after the registration is processed, no refund is available.
