Bismarck State College (BSC_001) is recognized by the
North American Electric Reliability Corporation
(NERC) as a continuing education provider that adheres to NERC CE Program Criteria.
Bismarck State College's National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) is proud to offer several NERC CEH-only courses online. These courses offer one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date training opportunities you will find to meet the NERC certification requirements. In addition, these courses are 100% online, with instructors that have relevant experience to share with the learners. Throughout the courses, participants have the opportunity to use NECE-created Interactive Learning Tools.
*NERC certification is not required to take advantage of these course offerings.

NERC CEH-Only Course Offerings
Basic Electrical Theory
- This course is designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Simulation training hours each year.
Emergency Operations
- These courses are designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Emergency Operating training hours each year.
NERC Standards
- These courses are designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Standards training hours each year.
Power Control
- These courses are designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Simulation and Emergency Operations training hours each year.
Power System Operations
- These courses are designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Simulation training hours each year.
Switchman Training
- This course is designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH training hours each year.

What are the online course elements?
This course is instructor-led, asynchronous and completely online. Participants learn from and participate in threaded discussions, self-check exercises, video/audio and text-based lectures, quizzes, animations and graphics. Instructors provide feedback on participants' completed exams and answer questions in the discussion area and through e-mail. Student participation in discussion areas is encouraged, as it enhances the quality of learning for all participants. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to use Interactive Learning Tools in the enhanced online lessons.
What are the course advantages?
CEH courses are 100% online with access anytime and anywhere. The course is structured to be self-paced; therefore participants are not required to be online at any specific time. The instructors facilitating the course are from the industry and have relevant knowledge for the learners.
What is the course schedule?
The course is open for registration at any time. Participants will have access to the course until June 30. All registrations received the month of June will have access until June 30 of the following year. The participant will have access to the course within three (3) working days after registration.
When will I receive my NERC CE Hours?
Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of completion by e-mail and the CE Hours will be uploaded into the SOCCED.
