Join Red Lodge Clay Center residents Bill Jones and Christopher Watt  on the Bismarck State College campus for two days of workshops, informal discussions and presentations as they discuss their journey as artists, creative processes and conceptual development. 

The event will be held Monday, March 28 and Tuesday, 29, 2022. The informal artist sessions and Tuesday evening presentation are free and open to the public.

     

Schedule of Events

The daily demonstrations will be in the BSC Ceramics Studio, Skogen Hall 221.
Daily Sessions in the classroom:

Monday, March 28:
  • 8-9:50 a.m. - Join the morning Ceramics class - demos and discussion
  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m.- Informal demonstrations and discussion
  • 1-4 p.m. - Join the afternoon Ceramics class demos and discussion
Tuesday, March 29:
  • 9 a.m.-12 p.m. - Join the morning Ceramics class - demos and discussion
  • 1-4 p.m. - Informal demonstrations and discussion
  • Evening Presentation: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., Basin Electric Auditorium, NECE 304 - A more formal presentation of the creative pathways taken by Bill and Christopher in creating pottery.
The classroom sessions will involve introductory comments and examples of the artist’s work, providing a background and context for each artist’s work and their approach to pottery making, followed by demonstrations and discussions.

Bill and Christopher will spend considerable time creating and explaining their approaches to making pots in Skogen Hall 221. Questions and conversation are encouraged during Bill and Christopher’s demonstrations.
