Location

""The 120-acre campus, in the vibrant, capital city of Bismarck, is beautifully situated overlooking the Missouri River with easy access to the Interstate as well as Bismarck’s many amenities. Safe and easy to navigate, Bismarck-Mandan and the surrounding area have a growing population of more than 100,000.

Polytechnic Designation

Bismarck State College is the only polytechnic in North Dakota. About 3% of higher education institutions are deemed polytechnic. Designated in 2018 by the ND Legislature and State Board of Higher Education (SBHE). (See page 6 of September 27, 2018 Meeting Minutes under SBHE Meeting Archive.)

Student Body

Mystic Athletics

Girl playing volleyballBSC fields varsity NJCAA intercollegiate teams including volleyball, baseball, softball, men's and women's basketball, track & field, cross country and esports. The Mystics are part of the Mon-Dak Athletic Conference, an alliance of eight state, community and technical colleges located in North Dakota and Montana.

Clubs and Organizations

More than 20 clubs and organizations, including Phi Theta Kappa and Future Business Leaders of America, student government, performing arts programs, facilities for health and wellness, and intramural sports.

On Campus Housing

Conveniently located on campus making the most of your time and money. Limited availability. Co-ed: Lidstrom Hall, Mystic Hall, Ritchie Hall, Gate City Hall. Women’s residence: Swensen Hall; Men’s residence: Werner Hall.

Scholarships

The BSC Foundation offers close to $1 million dollars in scholarships annually to incoming freshmen and sophomores.

Affordable Tuition

Total cost for tuition and fees for one year - based on 12 credits per semester - are around $5,000 for a North Dakota resident studying on campus.
