Enroll in Duo
How do I enroll in Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
When logging into a Duo protected application such as
Microsoft 365,
Blackboard,
Duo Device Management, and the
NDUS Portal using your NDUS credentials, you will be prompted with Duo. If you are not already registered you will be prompted to do so (this is "in-line" enrollment). You can also go directly to
2fa.ndus.edu to enroll.
You will be prompted to add your first device to Duo. Your available choices will depend on the device you are currently using. Windows Hello is shown on a Windows computer. A Mac computer will have touch ID. Mobile devices will have touch ID or face ID.
Note: We highly recommend setting up the mobile app to enable the Push option which works either via wifi or mobile data as well as setting up Windows Hello or Touch ID on your computer in case your mobile device is not available.

If you choose Duo Mobile, you will be prompted to add a phone number. If you are using a tablet, choose that option which will go straight to downloading the Duo Mobile app for your tablet (shown further down).
Once you enter your number, you will be prompted to confirm the number.

After confirming your number, you will be prompted to either send a passcode to your phone or call your phone.

Depending on your choice, either a passcode will be texted to you or you will receive a phone call to confirm your number. If you choose to send a passcode you will be prompted to enter the code you receive.

Once the code is verified, you will be prompted to download the Duo Mobile app to your mobile device.

You will be shown this prompt right away if you chose to enroll a tablet.

After downloading and installing the Duo Mobile app, you will be given an option to scan the QR code with your mobile device in the Duo app. Or, you can click the "Get an activation link instead" button to have the activation link sent to an email address of your choice.

After activating Duo via the QR code or activation link email, you will see a success prompt.

Once completed, you will be prompted with the choice to either add another device to your Duo account or you can skip this step and complete your Duo account setup.
