Intro to Medical Pathways (ESL)
This 18-hour course will help to build vocabulary and basic understanding of medical careers available in healthcare today. Students will gain a better understanding of the wide scope of terminology used primarily in nursing assistant training and their role in long-term care. The course will include conversation practice, worksheets, practice quizzes, and more.
This program will focus on English as a Second Language (ESL) students and aims to help improve their English language abilities and equip them to be successful in a potential healthcare career. This is a non-degree, non-credit-bearing program, and all instruction will be in English.

Length of Program
Each section is 3 weeks (6 sessions). Sessions will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Course Investment
Registration for the course is $250 and includes course materials.
Intro to Medical Pathways (ESL) is a short-term, non-credit program; therefore, TrainND Southwest does not offer financial aid or tuition assistance. Students may qualify for funding from state and federal agencies. For eligibility, please contact:

Course Requirements
Tuberculosis (TB) skin test is required for this course. Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months will be required on the first night of class.
Students preparing to take the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class to obtain a CNA license will need proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months.
