GenCyber Camp

The Bismarck State College GenCyber Cybersecurity Academy is a 5-day camp for students entering grades 6-8. The academy is funded through a grant from the National Security Agency (NSA) and National Science Foundation (NSF), making it FREE of charge for 100 participants.

Experienced high school and college faculty will lead students through lessons and interactive cybersecurity activities. The program will focus on cybersecurity concepts and cover a number of topics including:
 
  • Cybersecurity introduction and online safety
  • Digital citizenship
  • Hardware, operating systems, and programming
  • Computer careers and concepts review

Dates: July 29 - August 2, 2024
Schedule: 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM
Location: Bismarck State College
Cost: FREE

Camp registration includes: Breakfast, lunch & snacks

Our program is all about creating a fun and educational environment, and you'll be the guide on this incredible journey. You'll be responsible for these eager young minds, helping them learn valuable skills while enforcing program policies. This is your chance to make a lasting impact and inspire the next generation of cybersecurity heroes! Interested?

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to successfully pass FBI, MD, and CJIS background screening
  • Basic understanding of computer software applications and programming
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Ability to enforce operational procedures

What is GenCyber?

GenCyber is a FREE, nationwide program that is funded by the NSA and the National Science Foundation. GenCyber provides summer cybersecurity camps to students. The goal of the program is to help students understand safe online behavior, learn fundamental cybersecurity knowledge, increase interest in cybersecurity careers and improve pedagogical methods for delivering cybersecurity content in K-12 curricula.
