This platform is ideal for students who are still exploring their options or want a clearer path toward a fulfilling and sustainable career.
Handshake
Bismarck State College partners with Handshake, an online career development platform that connects students and alumni with job opportunities across local, regional and national companies.
Students and alumni can use their BSC email address to create a Handshake Account, build a profile and begin searching for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment. It’s recommended to start your job search at least one semester before completing your program.
Employers interested in hiring BSC students can also create a Handshake Account to post job openings and connect with qualified candidates.
BSC uses Handshake – an online career development platform to assist students and alumni to find employment with local, regional and national companies. For assistance setting up your employer account, please refer to the Employer Quick Start Guide.
The Right Connections with Business & Industry
BSC offers a variety of opportunities to help students connect with potential employers and prepare for the job market. These include on-campus interviews, employer info sessions, and career readiness workshops covering resume writing, cover letters, interview tips, and online job search strategies. Students can also explore placement statistics to see where past BSC graduates have found employment.
Leverage BSC's Industry Partnerships
As North Dakota’s Polytechnic Institution, BSC collaborates with industry leaders to provide hands-on learning experiences. Through internships, cooperative education, and job shadowing, you can gain practical skills and make valuable industry connections. These experiences are integrated into various programs, enhancing your readiness for the workforce?

Be Cautious of Job Scams
While searching for jobs online, always stay alert for potential scams. Legitimate employers will never ask for personal information like your Social Security number or bank details during the application process. Be wary of job offers that seem too good to be true, require upfront payments, or use vague contact information. If you're unsure about a posting, consult BSC Career Services for guidance before applying.
