From the Ground Up
The Progress
On November 29, 2022, Bismarck State College broke ground on North Dakota's Polytechnic Institution's Polytechnic Education Center next to the National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) on the BSC campus. Due to an early winter and late spring that produced near-record snowfall, progress was slow in the beginning. But by mid-May, crews were able to get in and get to work!
Cameras mounted atop the BSC National Energy Center of Excellence and the BSC Armory are capturing a time-lapse of the construction of the 88,000-square-foot polytechnic education center that will connect to the NECE via a skywalk and include state-of-the-art learning spaces such as a Security Operations Center (SOC), artificial intelligence and virtual reality labs, flex labs, a Digital Hive, collaboration spaces and a live event venue. Situated between the BSC Armory and the NECE, the facility will also provide a beautiful view of the Missouri River.
Time-lapse videos will be updated monthly to document this exciting progress. Check back again soon to see what's new!
The Steel Topping Ceremony
On January 31, 2024, BSC celebrated a construction milestone with a steel topping event for the region's only state-of-the-art polytechnic advanced technology center being built on the BSC campus. This facility, which broke ground in November 2022 adjacent to the BSC National Energy Center of Excellence, is designed to facilitate hands-on learning and industry collaboration and is set to be completed in November 2024.
