Holz named BSC Dean of Distance Education and Learning Support Services

Bismarck State College (BSC) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Shawn Holz as the Dean of Distance Education and Learning Support Services. In this crucial leadership role, Holz will be responsible for overseeing the institution's online programs and courses, the teaching and learning center, and the tutoring center.
Previously serving as the Dean of Academics at Sitting Bull College in Fort Yates, N.D., Holz has experience in higher education administration and brings a deep commitment to educational excellence to BSC. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art and Photography from the University of North Dakota (UND), a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography and 20th Century Art Theory & Criticism from Texas Tech University, and a Ph.D. in Education Leadership from UND.
"We are excited to welcome Dr. Holz to BSC," said Dr. Dan Leingang, BSC Vice President for Academic Affairs. "His academic background and passion for educational leadership make him an ideal fit for this position. I believe that his expertise will be instrumental in advancing our distance education programs and support services."
As the Dean of Distance Education and Learning Support Services, Holz's responsibilities include:
Leading and enhancing Bismarck State College's online programs, online course offerings and competency-based educational programming.
Managing the teaching and learning center, which plays a critical role in faculty development and student success.
Overseeing the tutoring center to provide academic support and resources to BSC students.
The Dean of Distance Education and Learning Support Services is a new position that reflects BSC's commitment to student success and its reputation as a leader in providing accessible, high-quality polytechnic education to its students.
