The Bismarck State College (BSC) Library will host their final 2023 BookTalk at BSC discussion from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 5.

Dr. Kimberly Crowley, associate professor of English, will lead the discussion of Mona Susan Powers’ book, “The Grass Dancer.” Powers is a native Chicagoan and a member of the Sioux tribe. Set in North Dakota, “The Grass Dancer” weaves together many stories over 100 years to create one larger story about multiple generations. The book is the winner of the 1995 Ernest Hemingway Foundation Award.

In late April, Powers will visit BSC classrooms and speak at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in downtown Bismarck as part of the Bringing Humanities to Life event.

BookTalk at BSC, held in the BSC Library at 1400 Schafer Street, is the library’s annual book discussion series. The discussions are free and open to the public thanks to funding from the BSC Library and the Warren and Rose Marie Henke Memorial Library Endowment. For more information, contact the BSC Library at 701-224-5450 or bsc.library@bismarckstate.edu.
