Due to the extension of the National Weather Service’s winter storm warning and the continued snow, wind and ice affecting travel and snow removal in the city and on campus, Bismarck State College has made the decision to keep campus closed on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Due to the impact of the storm and our concern for your safety, BSC is taking the following precautions and giving the following guidance:

  1. The Bismarck State College campus will continue to remain closed on Thursday, Dec. 15. All classes and events will be canceled. Only designated emergency personnel should report for work.

  2. Students should continue to monitor BSC communications and be in contact with their faculty regarding their final exam schedules and modalities. Some exams may be rescheduled while others will be held virtually. Please make sure you know the status of each of your final exams and communicate any questions and concerns with your faculty.

  3. Campus maintenance crews are clearing the campus of large amounts of snow. For your safety and that of essential campus workers, if you do not need to be on campus, please don’t be.

  4. BSC residence halls will remain open. Any student who will be staying in a BSC residence hall during this campus closure should communicate this to the Student & Residence Life office at bsc.housing@bismarckstate.edu if you haven’t already done so.

  5. BSC Mystic Marketplace will be open for hot meals from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. Grab & Go items will be available in between hot meal service times at the BSC Mystic Marketplace. The Student Union will be open regular hours – 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. – for campus residents. Please be cautious when walking to and from buildings on campus. Walkways and parking lots are very icy underneath the snow.

  6. The BSC Campus Police department will be on campus throughout the campus closure. If you have questions or need non-emergency assistance, they can be reached at 701-224-2700. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.

Please refer to the contact list below if you have questions regarding this campus closure.
