It’s not a final exam, but Bismarck State College Lineworker students will be putting their skills to the test. Fifty-three students who are graduating from the BSC Lineworker program with an associate degree or certificate of completion will participate in a Lineworker rodeo on Wednesday, May 14, at the BSC Mandan Lineworker campus.

The rodeo gives students in the program an opportunity to showcase their skills in climbing and transformer change-out as well as other technical techniques they have learned and perfected. Similar to larger regional or national Lineworker rodeos, participants will compete in hurt man rescues, a confidence climb and in changing out hardware on a utility pole. They will be scored based on both their time and skill level, with an emphasis on safe practices. The top teams will win prizes.
