Poet Brian Baumgart will be at Bismarck State College on Monday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. for a reading, question-and-answer session and book-signing. The event will be held in the Basin Electric Auditorium inside the BSC National Energy Center of Excellence and is free and open to the public.

Baumgart’s collection of poetry, “Rules for Loving Right,” was released from Sweet Publications in 2017, and his prose and poetry have appeared in a number of print and online journals, including “Tipton Poetry Journal,” “Cleaver,” “SLAB,” “Ruminate,” and “The Good Men Project.” A graduate of the MFA program at Minnesota State University-Mankato, he is currently the director of the creative writing program at North Hennepin Community College, just outside Minneapolis, Minn.

Baumgart’s visit to BSC will include several classroom visits on Monday and Tuesday. His appearances at BSC are part of the BSC Visiting Writers Series sponsored by the English Discipline of the Language, Literature, & Communication Department, with additional financial support from the BSC Foundation.

Due to weather conditions and the campus closure, this event has been cancelled for March 5.
