How It Works

Mechanical Maintenance: The Metallica Scholars scholarship program is to provide financial support by covering any remaining tuition after all other eligible aid (grants, scholarships, waivers from federal, state, institutional or external sources) has been applied, excluding student loans.

Enrollment in the training programs can be for college credit or non-credit.
 

Eligibility

For full consideration, students must meet the following criteria during the 2024-2025 academic year:
  • Be enrolled and maintain full-time status
  • Have completed the Metallica Scholars Application
  • If taking the program for college credit, filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2024-25 and be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident

Program Information

Mechanical Maintenance Technology

Install, maintain, and repair turbines, compressors, pumps, valves, and other industrial production and processing equipment. High-demand jobs are found in the power or process industry, manufacturing, institutions such as schools, and other enterprises that have complex industrial machinery and equipment.

Welding Technology
Six in ten welders work in manufacturing. Jobs are concentrated in fabricated metal products, transportation equipment, machinery, architectural and structural metals, and construction. Welders can advance to more skilled jobs with additional training and experience to become welding technicians, supervisors, inspectors, or instructors. Some experienced welders open their own shops.
