Bismarck State College has been approved as an online Continuing Education Units (CEU) provider by the following entities. Each state tracks CEUs according to their guidelines. By completing our certificate program for college credit, CEUs can be applied by the following states.

Alaska - The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Water has approved the following courses as indicated below.

Hawaii - The Hawaii Board of Certification of Operating Personnel in Wastewater Facilities has approved the following coursework for CEUs as indicated below:

WATR 120 Wastewater Treatment - 8 CEUs

Nebraska - The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality has approved the following courses for Wastewater Operator Continuing Education:
 
WATR 101 Introduction to the Water Industry – Approved for 40 hours
WATR 116 Control Systems – Approved for 30 hours
WATR 120 Wastewater Treatment – Approved for 40 hours
WATR 220 Practical Applications – Approved for 80 hours (includes course and required job shadowing)

North Dakota - The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has approved the completion of the Water & Wastewater Technology Program as the equivalent of 80 hours towards the first six months towards the entry level operator's exam. Also approved is 56 Continuing Education Credits (CEC/CEUs) towards the operator requirement to earn 12 CECs every three years.

Water 210 Dissolved Solids, Chemical Softening and Ion Exchange Processes = 5 credits
Water 212 Potable Water and Disinfection Processes = 5 credits
Water 214 Water Distribution & Final Treatment Processes = 3 credits
Water 216 Wastewater Treatment Processes = 7 credits
Water 218 Pump and Motor Maintenance = 4 credits
Water 220 Instrumentation and Control = 5 credits

Wisconsin - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has approved the following courses for Continuing Education Credits (CECs):
