NEI Uniform Curriculum Program
The Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program (NUCP) was developed to quantify the need for nuclear plant workers, define industry approved curriculum, and implement the right number of programs. The intent is that graduates could be waived or exempted from portions of required initial training. An agreement between Exelon and Bismarck State College will allow Nuclear Power Technology students an opportunity to substitute their education for training once employed in a nuclear plant. This type of industry partnership will help provide the next generation of highly skilled workers for the nuclear industry. NUCP is managed by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).
Certificate
Students who successfully complete specific curriculum within the BSC Nuclear Power Technology Program will receive a National Academy for Nuclear Training Certificate. The certificate states that the student has successfully completed nuclear fundamental training objectives and may allow certified students to bypass fundamental training topics once employed in a nuclear facility.
The NUCP certificate is eligible to students who have began the Nuclear Power Technology program after the fall of 2011.
The NUCP Certificate criteria requires students to complete the NUPT identified classes with a comprehensive final exam score of 80% or higher, a final grade of 80% or higher, and an Associated of Applied Science Nuclear Technology degree with a GPA of 2.7 or higher.
