Admission Criteria

Please note, as a limited enrollment program candidates will receive email notification during Holiday Break, of acceptance as not all candidates are selected for acceptance.

SPRING START

The Surgical Technology program is highly selective with limited enrollment. The program’s maximum enrollment capacity is 16 students per cohort.

Students should first designate Surgical Technology as their intended field of study. Next, they complete one full-time semester (at least 12 credit hours), with a minimum overall 2.0-grade point average, including Anatomy & Physiology I and Lab (BIOL 220/BIOL 220L) with a “C” or better. *Note: Completion of the full-time semester and/or completion of Anatomy & Physiology I and Lab (BIOL 220/BIOL 220L) with a “C” or better, could have been done at another institution, providing credits successfully transferred & fulfilled the requirements of BSC and the Surgical Technology Program. Also, the student may be fulfilling these requirements in the current semester, immediately preceding their spring program start. The third step is to apply to the program by Nov. 15 prior to the spring semester start and participate in an interview, prior to program acceptance. Again, if the student is currently enrolled in Anatomy & Physiology I and Lab (BIOL 220/BIOL 220L) and completing the requirement of one full-time semester of college coursework, they are eligible to apply to the program.
