Certificates
In addition to the state-approved associate degrees, technical diplomas, and advanced technical certificates that are part of the degree-granting programs at Bismarck State College, a variety of certificates are also offered. The courses required to complete these certificates are selected from various degree programs to meet specific and unique occupational needs.
Certificates of Completion (Less than 12 credits)
Certificates of Completion (CoC) typically can be completed in one semester and are designed to enhance your knowledge of specific skill(s). CoCs can be completed on their own or as part of another degree or certificate program. Certificate of Completion programs are not eligible for financial aid as a stand-alone program.
Short Term Program Certificates (16-18 credits)
Short-term certificates develop transferable skill sets specific to a job or a career. Certificates can be stacked to progress toward a diploma, associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
Program Certificates (1 year)
Program Certificates provide specialized education directly related to your major area of focus/interest. Most program certificates offer pathway options to earn an associate or bachelor’s degree.
