What is the Extended Reality (XR) used for?
- XR for VR leverages Extended Reality (XR) for career exploration, increasing awareness of manufacturing opportunities in North Dakota. Through our contractor, CareerViewXR, individuals can experience North Dakota manufacturing job sites firsthand using virtual reality headsets – bringing the workplace directly to you!
Who is eligible to participate?
- Participants: North Dakotans with a disability (youth and adults) who are interested in working within the manufacturing sector are eligible for XR for VR’s free services and support.
What types of support are available for people with disabilities participating in XR for VR?

How can employers get involved?
- North Dakota manufacturing employers who are interested in obtaining help filling labor shortages can email bsc.XRforVR@bismarckstate.edu or call 701-224-2589. XR for VR facilitates connections between employers and skilled individuals.
What is Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE)?
- CIE refers to individuals with disabilities having a job in the community where they work alongside people who don’t have disabilities, obtain fair pay, are offered the same benefits as other employees, and have the same opportunities to grow.
