The following information was sent to BSC students, staff and faculty on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021.

Since March when COVID-19 first affected our BSC community, the decisions made about safety, classrooms, participation, housing and more have been filtered through five priorities:
  1. Safeguard the health of our students and employees.
  2. Keep our students moving toward their academic goals.
  3. Create a sense of normalcy for all students.
  4. Allow our student athletes and performers the opportunity to perform and compete.
  5. Open competition and performances to fans and spectators.
Beginning Monday, February 22, Bismarck State College will begin allowing limited spectators to attend student athletic competitions, performances, and academic recognitions. BSC will do this with a focus on safeguarding the other four student-centered priorities.

Attendance numbers will be determined by the limitations of the competition or performance space on campus, and attendees will be required to comply with the campus safety measures which include social distancing and a mask requirement.

BSC Attendance Guidelines – Feb. 22, 2021

All guidelines are subject to regular review and will be adjusted as conditions warrant. Additional details will be shared as they are available.

To our BSC students, Thank You.
Thank you for your support of our spring plans. While the availability of vaccines has brought hope to us all, our BSC COVID-19 infection rates remain a concern. The most important work we do at BSC is keep you and our employees safe and ensure that you can achieve your academic goals. It is to ensure those two top priorities that we are proceeding with an abundance of caution.

Throughout the pandemic, students have embraced BSC’s COVID-19 protocols knowing that those protocols would allow you to remain healthy and move forward in your academic, musical, dramatic and athletic pursuits. Your positive attitudes and actions have contributed to your health, the health of the campus community as a whole, and it also ensured your ability to compete and perform. Our ability to open the doors to your families and fans, is due to your diligence. Your leadership is an example to us all.
