Course Overload

Students are limited to 20 credits per Fall and Spring semesters, 15 credits in the Summer. Those who find it necessary to exceed this credit limit, must seek approval by completing the Course Overload Request form. Forms must be submitted by the end of the second day of classes during the semester for which the overload is required.

Steps to request a Course Overload
  1. Review Student Policy -  Student Credit Load and Overload
  2. Check CampusConnection to make sure you have no outstanding holds that would prevent registration.
  3. Gather current course information
    • You will need to know the class numbers for each course you are currently enrolled in prior to completing the overload form.
      • You can find your class numbers by going into the manage classes tile in Campus Connection.
      • Click view my classes in the upper left corner.
      • The class number is found under class
  1. Complete the Course Overload Request form
    • Sign into Campus Connection
    • Select BSC eForms tile
    • Select Academic Records in the left menu
    • Select "Course Overload"
      • Under registered course information add each class by adding “ + “until all classes have been entered.
    • Complete the form and click submit.
The Academic Records office will seek approval/denial from an appropriate Assistant Dean or Dean.  Registration completed by Academic Records for an approved overload request will occur only if the course is open or an appropriate override has been obtained.
