Drop/Withdraw/Appeal

Prior to Dropping or Withdrawing

There are many items to consider before dropping a course or withdrawing from courses. Please review the BSC Dates and Deadlines schedule for the semester and visit with an advisor before making a decision.

Drop or Withdraw to Zero Credits

This allows students to discontinue enrollment in a particular course, but to maintain enrollment in some courses for the semester or withdraw to zero credits for the semester.  All course drops must be completed in CampusConnection.  Students withdrawing completely from Bismarck State College must complete the Withdraw to Zero Credits Form.

Drop or Withdraw to Zero Credits Appeal

This allows students the opportunity to appeal a transcript record and/or tuition and fee charges following a course drop, a withdraw to zero credits, or past the last day to drop with record due to extenuating circumstances (medical, military, death in immediate family, natural disasters, attempt to drop, etc.). Tuition and fee refunds are calculated in compliance with policy set by the State Board of Higher Education.

Withdraw to Zero Credits Reactivation

A student who withdraws to zero credits no longer has access to re-enroll in courses within Campus Connection for the term they withdrew.

Students will be activated in the same program. The reactivation does not automatically re-enroll the student in original courses. Course registration must be completed in Campus Connection or appropriate overrides obtained.

Withdraw reactivations may also affect account balance.  Contact Student Finance if questions.
